Buying a g35, is this price worth it?
Hey guys, looking to a buy a 2003 G35 coupe. Found one for a very reasonable price of $1230 USD. It has 118k miles, but the engine runs fine.
It has a few problems which are,
- center instrument panel needs to be replaced(radio and heat controls not working)
- the trunk wont open
- passenger window motor needs replacing
- check engine light is on (apparently the carbon sensor?)
- rust alone roof/front window and back rear wheel wells
Is it worth it to buy and repair the car?

It probably has a salvage title for that price or a bunch of huge problems that you don't know about.
Buy a car that cheap and you better know what you're doing as far as doing repairs and being mechanically inclined and well equipped with an arsenal of tools to fix stuff.

First things first, check the Title and accident records.
Obviously this car has not been taken care of. Price seems fine, but you better be mechanically inclined and ready to drop some time and money to get it back to safe and serviceable condition.
Not sure if its worth it, that all depends if you have the patience and ability to fix this neglected car. After parts and repair, you're easily looking at maybe $2000-4000 on top of the sale price.
You might as well buy one in good running condition for $5-6k. A member here is selling a black 05 for $6k in NYC.

Don't, you will end up spending more money that if you were to buy a good one and you will run into less problems. I learned my lesson the hard way. I bought a couple cars that were cheaper than usual and found problems later. I once bought a 1994 eclipse turbo awd for 1200. Decent mileage and pulled very hard no boost leaks anywhere. Half a year later my car felt like it was bouncing, I took it in to the shop and the frame was cracked. If the car had nothing wrong with it the owner would want to get his money out of it.
