Question 07 G35X Sedan (Tech Package) Adaptive Headlights vs Non Adaptive Headlights

Hey guys,

So i had an accident recently and both of my headlights (currently adaptive) have cracked housing, but both lights work just fine. Now I have no choice, but to get a set of brand new headlights. I know that the adaptive headlights are almost $1400 a piece (plus installation) and non-adaptive are like $200 a piece.

My question to the community is - does non adaptive headlights fit on tech package cars. AND whats are the major differences in both types? I mean if its just harness or lens, I can just change the non-adaptive lens and hardness with existing one as long as the housing fits my car.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I saw a couple on eBay, they weren't OEM though. But I can't seem to find adaptive headlights anywhere - not even eBay. So figure I can buy non adaptive and change ballast, lens and harness with my old one to make them adaptive. That's why im just curious if the housing will even fit.

u can fit the NON AFS light in an AFS car setup. u just will have the AFS LED flashing the entire time your car is on after that. thats what happened to me last week. I popped in a non AFS light and i have the AFS light flashing the entire time. kind of annoying for me personally. ordered an AFS headlight for 300 dolalrs on ebay

Thanks bud, I was looking at them as well. They seem to have cracked housing so same story as mine I guess.

P.S. Did you install that AFS headlight, the one that you ordered for $300? I'm just curious if you know what's the part that makes them adaptive.
