Trunk open indicator

My trunk open indicator warning stopped working. I recently removed glove box to replace cabin filter. All harnesses were reconnected. Any ideas?

Does the trunk open switch (by the VDC button) still work?
If not you might have knocked off the connector for that switch - which is inside the glove box.
Not sure if that would cause the light to stop working but it's the only switch that relates to the trunk in that particular area.

There is a "TRUNK RELEASE POWER CANCEL SWITCH" located in the glove box. (ref: Owners Manual page 3-19 or so) Perhaps it got unplugged and is causing the problem. It's the most obvious thing I can think of that would correlate the glove box with trunk functions. I always look for the easy stuff first.

I will double chec that; But if this was disconnected, wouldn't the trunk not open at all

Well, it may not necessarily be disconnected, it could be pinched/shorted or something. There are so many "intelligent" controllers behind the scenes in these cars that even something as simple as a switch may in fact be more involved than expected.
I agree though, it doesn't seem like it should. It's just so strongly suggested as a likely suspect from a purely troubleshooting step, since it does have a related function AND it was possibly disturbed by the work you last did before it quit working.

As strangely as it started, it just as strangely began working with me doing nothing. Oh well, gremlins I guess.
