First Impressions 2007 G35x
First off hello everyone, it's been a few years since I've posted on an auto board, I guess I finally have a vehicle worthy enough again
Picked up a low mileage 2007 G35x a few days ago. Coming from a no frills economy car it initially felt and sounded very truck like, you can definitely feel the mass especially with AWD. The engine also has a bit of that truck sound to it, but as we all know it is a very energetic and pleasing power-plant. That top end rush is great although I wish it had some more torque to better throw that weight around at lower revs. Not complaining as it's almost too much and really difficult to put the power down in most situations tooling around town.
Just wondering if anyone's tried a 100% stock tune, to optimize A/F's etc and maybe improve MPG while squeezing out a few more ponies?

Really enjoying the car more and more. Thinking of getting a K&N drop in filter as my first mod for a bit of a louder induction sound and maybe some extra top end power.
Here are a few pics..

K&N drop-in filters are in. Out of the box they seemed rather oily so I let them dry for 2-3hours in the Sun before installation. Too early to tell just what difference if any I will get. Haven't had a chance to really do proper testing with some clean full throttle pulls. What I can say is that at light throttle inputs and below 4K rpm, they perform very similar to stock, I'm not noticing any increase in sound either.
We are getting lots of rain here at the moment, the AWD is fantastic, tons of grip. I did manage to spin all four earlier today coming out of a corner, but the car stayed composed and tracked straight.

Thanks for the tip, I guess it just goes to show how doing something that is normally very proactive and beneficial as cleaning your TBs can have so many possible negative side effects on these.
