Head Scratcher....P2000 and P2003
Hi Everyone who is still here. I have a 2007 VQ35HR with 130,000 miles on her. I have been running great for the last 10 7 years, but recently had the check engine light shine it's ugly face at me.
When I check the codes with my reader I get a P2000 - which is a diesel code, and another P2003.
Now, it is possible that my code reader is not able to show the letter A on the codes? Meaning the codes are actually P2A00 and P2A03.. Which relate to O2 sensors, or an intake leak.. much more likely than a diesel problem on this car
It't an old reader, likely from the 1990's.
If anyone has heard of this, please let me know.

Those are for both A/F sensors (upstream O2 sensors). I find it hard to believe they both are bad.
Intake leaks and fuel pressure/delivery seem to be the main issue mention in alldata.
You could have a bad MAF sensor also.
Any work done recently?
I'd buy an actual scan tool or something you that will work with like the Torque App.
That way you can get live data and monitor the fuel trims and stuff like that.

Now, I have also had some intermitent problems with the fuel level sensor (P0462) but that code has stopped showing up. Maybe time for a new fuel pump.
The big question is: "Do old code readers not recognize Alpha characters?" is it possible that my code reader showing a P2000 is really a P2A00??
They can't do that anymore in CA cuz repair places complained about losing money. Lol
Well, that sucks. I'd get a new scanner anyway and replace that one from the 1990's. I bought an Autel Diaglink for about 115 bucks. Then you can get vehicle specific add-on modules for 15 dollars a piece.
