Lights in tachometer on and off
Lights in tachometer on and off
I have a 2009 g37x, and the light in my tach between 6k-8k RPMs flickers, and sometimes turns off entirely. All other dash lights work fine, as do the rest of the lights in the tach. Any idea how to fix?

wiggles...there is a ghost in the machine...that issue is going to continue...then disappear then re-appear. It then will spread to the temp gauge...then it will go away again and everything will be lit up as usual...then it creeps back (generally over the same range it started on the tach) i have an 08 most likely with more miles than anyone on this forum. (242) and i have been experiencing this for about a year now. It will cost a bundle to get it fixed...if your wife has not chopped your money tree in the back yard down then go pick several C notes off it and take it to the dealer...absent that its just one of those damnable statistical occurrences on this model....
On my friends car, the *questionable* zone is behind 4-6k RPM, i feel like that would be much more annoying. From what I've read about this, the dash lights are built into the circuit board, so there's no individual replacement like on an older vehicle. You'd need a new instrument cluster which would likely need to be programmed and all that exciting stuff... $$$
