No problems after cleaning throttle TB

Not sure what some of you are doing wrong when cleaning your throttle body's. I do know if you unplug your negative battery cable and DONT unplug your throttle body's you shouldn't have a problem.. after cleaning my 07 g35 (VQ35HR) sedan it did idle high after cleaning for a bit until I drove it and as soon as I gave it full throttle when driving my idle went back to normal! So happy!! I have ZERO idle hunt after cleaning them as before cleaning when at idle my rpm would drop a few times when I come to a stop or just sitting. also better throttle response!! Just be gentle with the butterfly's and you shouldn't have a problem.. honestly you don't need to be SUPER gentle just don't open them too far or let them slam close just close them easily after opening them for cleaning..

I think the last sentence of the OP says it all.

I am planning on doing this next week as my RPM's drop suuuper low after going fast and stopping at a light. I have actually had the car stall out once or twice over the past year (I drive a 6MT).
The way I read your post you recommend unplugging the battery terminal, but NOT disconnecting the throttle body cable... is that correct? After I have the throttle body removed is it okay to gently push the butterfly with my fingers to clean around it?

Just put the car in the on position and wedge something down on the gas pedal to open the butterfly valve. No need to touch it and then you can clean all you want.

i thought about doing it this way when I cleaned mine but I felt like touching the tb with the battery hooked up is a bad idea. also with everything still with power the butterfly's are going to close regularly when they are clean which the computer isn't used to so I feel like it will throw things off with the battery still hooked up. You are going to have to remove them either way.. and when they are removed you care positive they are clean vs not being able to see all angle. When ever you're doing any kind of maintenance it's never a good idea to leave power flowing..

Yea I'm gonna go for it like this.. Clever idea. This is obviously not something that that a professional would recommend because the car is still powered up, but I'm not too concerned about getting electrocuted, and I'm also not a professional... Is there is a throttle body relearn. And if so did you use it / do you have any tips ?

UPDATE: I googled it and got this so I will be trying this unless someone gives me a better way.

I wish the "block on the gas pedal" trick worked on the DE motor...
