Searching for a Part.

searching for a part
I'm in need of the following part:
48810-1NG1B
Steering column for a G35S (07/08) w/ rear active steering.

The damn part is discontinued. thanks Infiniti!

If anyone has a part out or knows where I might find one of these, I'd be greatly appreciative.

Try Sac City Auto - https://saccityautoparts.com/

It might also be worth it to contact Z1 or CZP, they could have connections that could source.

thanks. I did come across them on part finder. said they had it. It's odd that they're quoting $100 for a $1500 part

They are scrappers so it's definitely used, and it might be the kind of part that doesn't get sold much and/or takes up a lot of inventory space. Think it's too good to be true?

Yeah... actually a bit scary that it's that cheap. I'm not even 100% certain that it's the correct part since the infiniti dealer is being difficult.

replacing the steering column isn't exactly easy and if the new one doesn't work... huge waste of time and/or money.

Yeah, I get cold sweats just thinking about it. I tore a little rubber gromet/bushing on mine when I was installing ART pipes a couple weeks ago, and I chose blissful ignorance rather than looking into fixing it. So far I haven't noticed any issues so I think I got away with it. What's wrong with yours anyways?

the car was in a minor accident. rolled down a slight incline as the parking brake needed adjustment and wasn't up far enough. went offroad slightly.

The 4WAS, SLIP, and VDC off lights came on after getting it home from the body shop. took it back, and found codes C1930 and C1668, both relating to 4WAS Front components. the 4WAS ECU and front actuator, specifically.

According to the service manual, the 4WAS front actuator on the lower steering shaft needs aligned or possibly replaced given the C1930 code, but it's possible that it's something else and the parts aren't actually bad. In reality, it almost feels like an alignment or sensor issue, I just can't imagine the minor accident breaking this component. i've hit potholes harder than this. I did get a new bumper and right front fender out of it...

I see no way that the steering column assembly is the culprit. I drove the car home fine from the shop. no steering problems whatsoever. when I got it home, the lights came on the next morning. can't use cruise control, etc...
