Uncontrollable Heater!

I miss the days when I would hit a button and it would instantly blow air regardless of the outside temperature or the engine temperature. It would still blow!!! I recently bought the 2007 G35 out of necessity and for the most part all is well. But this climate control is the biggest headache I've ever experienced with a car.
As of today.... the unit will not blow any air at start up. If I'm lucky it takes about 10 to 15 minutes before air starts to blow. But today. I drove for almost 45 minutes and nothing. Left car for 10 men came back and drove for 30 minutes and still no blower or heat. And it's getting cold hear in Canada.

The engine is obviously at operating temps, fluids are topped up. I then went to get son from school and after idling on curb for 20 minutes it FINALLY WENT ON. Heat!!!! So I was warm for 5 minutes, turned car off went to grab son , came back started car, and NOTHING AGAIN, NO BLOWER!!!! DID NOT TURN BACK ON. I checked fuses in cab and all good. What would cause the sparatic timing of the blower going on at such delayed times, then it not working again 5 minutes later? Would it be the AcHvac relay? Is that under the hood near battery?

It will be freezing here soon, and I cant see myself driving for 40 minutes waiting for heat to start blowing, especially with my son in car. Any help would be appreciated.

Rich.

The problem is almost ALWAYS the relay on the BACK of the Fuse Block J-B which is located in the driver footwell, remove the entire trim piece not just the little access window. Disconnect your battery. Take out the couple of small screws holding the fuse block down, I think they're 8 or 10mm, can't remember. Lift up and turn the fuse block a little and you'll see some blue relays located on the BACK of the fuse block. Autozone carries the actual OEM Nissan relay but since you're dealing with freezing temps already I'd just throw ANY brand of relay in to get the system functional again.

Since you didn't specify whether you have a sedan or coupe I'll post pictures of both fuse blocks...

Here's the coupe

And here's the sedan

Absolutely correct. I removed fuse box and pulled bottom relay as others have mentioned. Then did quick check and blower was working immediately. Paid 40 bucks and about 5 minutes of my time.
So glad for forums like this and the guys who take the time to help others. Can only imagine what Infiniti would have said the issue was and fix would cost!!
