Please help Identify hose

Hi everyone

Wife was driving and noticed smoke and coolant leaking. We pulled over and I was able to identify where the leak was coming from but not sure what hose this is. FYI it’s behind the engine cover passenger side kinda near the trans dip stick. Also how difficult is it to replace hose diy style. I’m not a mechanic however, I did replace both upper and lower radiator hoses about 2 months ago.

Thanks

Heater core bleed valve, there is a part in the middle that's broken off and missing.

I recommend replacing it with this one:

If you need it fixed ASAP then go down to a parts house and buy a coolant backflush kit and install the tee between those two hoses.

Here's what the OEM one looked like, the piece in the middle is broken off.

Make sure to research how to refill the coolant system on these cars or you're guaranteed to screw it up. This ain't your papa's old chevy.
