New wheels

Hi so I'm looking for new wheels for my 07 g35 sedan. I currently have the stock 18s on them and plan on sticking with that size. I'm really looking for a flushed fitment, what has worked best for you guys? Any tips or words of advice for a newbie to the car scene?

A key feature to watch out for is the spoke design to ensure it clear your calipers. From your pictures, it looks like you don't have Akebono calipers so you'll have a larger selection, but keep in mind if you do want to install them, that not all wheels clear it.

in terms of size, it depends on the style you are going for. Do you like the meaty look and prefer having as much usable grip as possible, or do you like the stance look?
setups I've ran before:

Advan AVS Model T6

18x8 +30 245/45R18 1

8x9 +35 275/40R18

Forgestar CF10

19x9 +35 255/40R19

19x10 +42 285/35R19

SSR MS1

19x9 +24 245/35R19 (ran a 15mm spacer to clear the calipers so +9 effective offest)

19x10 +29 275/30R19 (ran a 3mm spacer to clear the calipers so +26 effective offest)

I do not recommend this tire size as it is 1" shorter than stock diameter and they are like rubber bands, I bend two of my wheel lips going over road construction.

Rennen Blue Label C10

20x8.5 +25 245/35R20

20x10.5 +35 275/30R20

I like the meaty look, not really into stance, but the second picture with the 19's look really good

I'd lower it before you did rims, even taking off half an inch or so really transforms the look

that's a pretty idea actually. I agree a drop will give a good appearance, even with stock wheels.

That’s not a bad idea since I’m already thinking of lowering it. The only thing is I’m not sure what’s goin to be a good bang for my buck.

Springs are the most cost effective way for lowering. I had H&R springs (in all the pictures above) before I switched to coilovers recently. I was on stock shocks and despite my car having 120,000 miles, it rode very comfortably (grandparents approved, lol) Eibach and Swift are other good brands that are common with our Gs. Cost is usually in the $250 range.

For low budget from $500-$700 the Tein Basis is a very good option that rides well also.

Would you prefer the coil overs over the lowering springs?

I prefer coil-over because of the adjustability. For example, the subdivision I currently live in has speed bumps, I have a Motordyne exhaust that hangs really low. I raised my car to preserve the exhaust. I am getting ready to move in a few months, and once I do, I'll lower my car to my desired height.

The springs was simple for me, and did the job of looking good without breaking the bank. you can always sell the springs to get some money back too.

I personally like the stock Enkei rims we have. The stance is just a bit off. Eventually, I plan on lowering the car about an inch or so, and putting on some spacers. I bought a set of 15mm spacers to test fit and see how they look. For the back they were perfect, and I think I'll be going with 10mm up front. Which will make the offset for both front and rear at 35 with our staggered setup. I think once the car is lowered and the rims are pushed out a smidge the car will look mucho sexy
