Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. My key fob seems to have a mind of its own. Or maybe it just loses its mind sometimes. But basically what happens is that sometimes the car will not recognize it and I'll have to put it in the slot, and sometimes it will not lock or unlock the doors or open the trunk when I press the buttons on the key.

However, as long as the key is in proximity, pushing the button on the door handle always works. But it seems like all other functions besides that and putting the key in the slot are intermittent

 

Sounds like a low battery

 

Yes the performance will get weird before the dash tells you the battery is low.
