Some one tried to break into my G :(

I was out last weekend with my friends in downtown Austin, I got back to my car to find this...

Really pissed me off

Now I need to get this replaced, I cant find it on eBay or anything. Does anyone know what this part is called? Chrome window molding? Chrome window trim?

MOULDING, REAR DOOR SASH, CENTER, LH

Go here, https://parts.infinitiusa.com/nissan...ntvehid=&year=, input your VIN, then go to BODY (SIDE & REAR), REAR DOOR PANEL & FITTING.

Rear door molding, look up your vehicle on infinitipartsonline.com, under BODY, then Exterior Trim - Doors.

Looks like part 82285-JK000

Fairly simple to replace, it was a kid that did it definitely not a seasoned thief or you would have a broken window. Anyone who's ever broken into cars knows it's quick, easy, and quiet to pop the glass with a glass breaker and a roll of duct tape, then you crawl into the window and 60 seconds later have the radio out and are on your merry way.

More like 60 minutes later for these cars lol. The stereo is a crapload of work to get out.

Not if you're stealing it. Literally takes seconds to pry the center cover off with a couple of good flat blade screwdrivers, hacking cars apart is VERY quick work when you aren't worried about breaking stuff.

And anyone who was legitimately trying to steal stuff would never waste time trying to pry a door open, everyone whose done this before knows the second you open the door the alarm goes off. You pop the window and climb inside through the hole you made.

It's even better when people have tinted windows because the film holds all the glass together and it's a LOT quieter too.

I must have given myself bad karma or something, came outside to this today.

However they didn't touch the G or my DD shitbox Focus, instead they went straight for the oldest vehicle in the fleet??? They didn't steal anything either! They probably got inside and realized it was a 20 year old truck and felt bad and dumb, then left in shame for being bads.

They obviously crawled in though because there was a big hand print in the dust on the dash.

Holy ***** of Karma!!

Maybe they were dumbaśses and thought there is a release button for your bed storage box.

But that would be a very strange choice of entry point for someone who is trying to break into a vehicle.

If you're just going after the stereo it's the easiest way in but they didn't take ANYTHING. I'm starting to think maybe it was a neighbor kid with a BB gun though.

Glass break sensor on my GX 460 will go off at just a key tap on the glass.

Yeah those things are pretty sweet, we install a lot onto the windows in the buildings that we make. They basically "hear" the correct frequency that glass makes when it breaks and send the alarm signal when it's detected. Pretty cool tech.
