Automatic shifter needs bumped to put into Park

I just had a new engine installed in my 2008 G35x. Automatic transmission. There are two issues with the shifter. When I place the shifter into Park, I need to push the shifter somewhat forward for it to seat into Park. If I don't do this when I turn the engine off, the warning light comes on stating the car isn't in Park.

Second issue is the lights next to P, R, N, D. The light for the Parking position stays on when I move the shifter to the other modes. If I place the shifter in DS mode, the light comes on. Pictures are attached.

Sounds like the switch responsible for reading that the physical shifter has moved is borked. I had this issue with an ill-fitting aftermarket **** where the interlock wouldn't *quite* pop on, leading to the car being in the P slot but not actually in P. Might want to make sure everything in the shifter assembly was installed correctly before you start digging super deep into it.

Thank you. I'll be contacting the garage on Monday and let them know the issue and this possible solution to fix it.
