Looking to have a tsb done on my 07 hr g35x
Ok so I have the annoying throttle issue with the 07 g35hr and I'm lookin to have that ecu updated under the tsb itb08-017. I called to make an appointment and was told it would be 149.99 to have it looked at. I was under the impression this is a free service. Am I correct and the dealership is just being shady as usual?
TSB costs money, it's basically just a set of instructions directing the dealership on how to fix various problems that arise that are NOT covered under explicit direction of the FSM.
Recalls are free.
Dealerships have a minimum 1 hour service charge for basically any service, even though they're just going to plug in the Consult tool and let it sit for about 5 minutes then check operation of your vehicle and have the thing for MAYBE 30 minutes.

Yep, if it's not a warranty or recall issue you are going to pay by the hour. Infiniti here charges $120 / HR for reprogramming. Make sure they check your transmission TCU for updates also.

If you were local I would update the ECU for you. I can't do TCU's yet since I don't have a J2534...
What are you doin next week!? since i am off, and drive for a living, that would be a nice little jaunt......
Do you have any specific TSB numbers?

I haven't seen a TSB either, that's why I said to ask the dealership when it's in there to see if an update for the TCU is available. I'll have to check if a newer version is available on the site. I'm just starting to log TCU software version #'s with my new programming tablet. The only problem is I haven't had access to many 07' - 08' cars.
Triton3.5 - If you are going to be in for a day or two I could probably do it. I would need the ECU for the day so I could do it in spare time at work.
