Overheating when ac is on and parked for 15 minutes on idle
Overheating when ac is on and parked for 15 minutes on idle
2008 Infiniti G35 sedan
car is overheating when parked for 15 minutes or more with ac on.
temperatuee gauge goes over half near to H.
using coolant and after market radiator which was fit in a year ago and changed the thermostat two days back.
car is also heating up at day and night when ac on but when drive it will drop temperature and when close the ac and put the air circulation from outside.
water pump is too difficult to change so I want to know whatelse it can be.
I have a radiator cap but it’s without a spring on it , it’s from nissan and they say the radiator cap comes without a spring but didn’t face that issue.
Please help

First thing first, are the cooling fans turning on when you turn on the A/C? They should come on when the water temps get around 204*F-
Cooling system properly bleed?
Did you use an OEM thermostat?

Did you use an OEM thermostat?
Yes I changed to oem thermostat.
fans are working properly.
coolant is not getting less.
did not try bleeding because I’m not sure how to do that properly.
when I switch on my car even after keeping it over night and it’s full cold engine and switch on engine and try to put coolant I’m not able to because coolant starts coming out.

I don’t think there is any dirt or bugs
But still thinking to clean it
filled coolant again at night and drove temperature was better but need to see it on idle for 15 minutes

Try this:
On a cold engine remove the radiator cap. Start engine and let it run for a half hour while you observe. Very often air bubbles will force out some coolant from the radiator. Add coolant into the overflow tank.when necessary and replace radiator cap after no more coolant bubbles out. Make sure you are using the correct coolant.
Good luck

On cold engine if I start my car it only throws out all the coolant.
im using Toyota coolant since past 3 years it’s first time I’m facing this issue.
I think I need to bleed it properly or will it be okay to remove all coolant then put back again?

I will do the bleeding this week hopefully and update everyone.
much appreciated all the help from G owners.
im planning after this issue to tune the stock ecu. What do you people recommend on that?

Are the cooling fans running at full speed when the AC is on? If temperature drops when you are moving, chances are your cooling fans are shot. You may want to check the fan relays before replacing the fan assembly just to make sure it's not just a bad relay keeping the fans from working.
I had a similar problem. My fan was running at 100% all the time so I(dealership) replaced it with fan control module with an aftermarket one i provided along with a due hose replacement and flush. It seemed to fix fan problem but shortly after I noticed that my engine overheated while I was defrosting my windows idling at a drive through. It was almost like a switch though, if i never turned on my ac/heater, the car would never overheat but sometimes, not always, when i turn the ac on, the car would now be free to overheat so I had to blast my heater on max temp (this actually cools the engine) while I drove home/dealership. The dealership coudlnt recreate the problem and neither could I but it still happened sporadically so i eventually replaced my control module to a new OEM one and I only used the AC a handful of times since then but haven't had the problem since. However, sometimes I still smell a little bit of coolant when I step outside of the car after driving.
Yes, it is only air, but not all engines bleed so easily and simply. VQs are notoriously stubborn to bleed. The V6 in Frontiers are a real pita. They say to get the front tires 2 or 3 feet higher than the rear or you have to put the cooling system into a vacuum before adding coolant. The Infiniti Master Tech I'm friends with does the vacuum technique every time he does a coolant swap. Get the system properly bled, like mentioned a bleed funnel is definitely recommended. Worse case scenario take it somewhere who has a vacuum cooling system filler
Hello All ones again
I did the air bleeding like showed in link above.
changed the thermostat to original oem before that.
changed the radiator and reservoir cap.
still when parked it heats up after 10 minutes but when driving it’s all good and temperature comes back to normal.
can it be a water pump ? I hope not because it’s a lot of money or what do you guys advice
