Rusty Subframe Replacement with Older Al Version

Hi all, I have a 2007 G35x sedan (V36) and the rear steel subframe has corroded and failed at one of the control arms. (Ontario road salt!)
It appears that the subframe on older models (V35) is aluminum and I have access to one. Does anyone know if the geometry is the same and if it will fit? Scoured the internet and can’t seem to find a definitive answer. Also called three Infiniti dealers and no seems to know.
Thanks in advance!

All rear subframes are aluminum regardless of year (and fronts are extremely uncommon to rust to the point of failure), take a picture of the component that's rusted. It's probably the front or rear subframe BRACE which is a fairly common item to rust and easily replaced.

Here's a picture of the rusted subframe, it actually broke on both sides in the same spot. Little crusty....

Whoa crap you weren't kidding, I had no idea any of the G35 were available with the stamped steel subframe I thought they didn't go back to steel until the G37.

I'm pretty sure you can use ANY of the steel subframes from the G37 though which opens up a lot more options for you, I would call one of the Nissan specific shops like Z1 Motorsports to confirm this though.

Yes, they switched to steel in 2007 apparently and I believe you are correct about post 2007 G35/G37 being the same. I was wondering if the previous aluminum version was the same geometry and might also be interchangeable....and since a have a buddy who has one I can have for free. :-) I'll try calling Z1 Motorsports and see if they may know.
Thanks

I have this same issue with the rear subframe on my 2007 G35X. Did you end up getting this replaced? Cost? I'm also in Ontario.

Yes, I found a good rear subframe on Kijiji from a guy that was parting out the same car, Paid $500 for the subframe and since it was winter (and a pretty ugly job) had a local mechanic put it in. All in it was about $2,500 but that included replacement of some other parts, a few bushings and rear some brake work. I like the car and it has low mileage so was worth it for me. Cheaper than the tax on another used car!

I would strongly recommend anyone with the V36 subframe to get the car up on jackstands, pressure wash, dry, and spray the entire thing with undercarriage spray as preventative maintenance.
