Question 07 G35x Radio / AC issues

As the title suggests, I am having issues with my radio and AC. Sometimes neither will work, other times one or both will come on after an extended period of time. It seems to happen more as the weather gets cold but it still happens during the summer months sometimes.

Would a new HU fix this? As far as I understand there is a circuit board in the HU that manages both the radio and ac so I am wondering if it could be the reason this is happening. So far I have checked all the fuses and none are blown, in case that information helps.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions!

I ended up getting a new radio and replacing my current one, unfortunately, it did not work. Have any other suggestions?

Interesting 🤔

Did it change the behavior at all?

Nothing changed however I did end up getting the AC fixed! Turns out it was a coincidence that both the AC and radio went out at the same time. The AC had something to do with a relay (I don't remember exactly but I believe that was the case). For the radio, I have the bose amplifier problem that is discussed a lot here.

I did not fix the radio yet, however, I was told my options are to install an amp bypass or get a new amp. I actually enjoy the sound of the BOSE speakers, I was wondering though, would an amp bypass degrade the quality of sound? I am not familiar at all with how sound systems work and am still researching to get a better understanding.

Glad u got that figured out!

I believe u can bypass the Bose amp and have the head unit push the speakers. But I would assume there would be a pretty noticeable drop in sound quality. I havent heard a before and after comparison but our member @Wrathernaut will probably have the best answer for you.
