this is the glove compartment. usually it's suppose to grab the end where the opening is but for some reason this part doesn't reach to grab the end so it can hold the door up...came with the car like that. prob miss match part from another year or it's missing something? can anyone check their glove compartment and check?

Why not drill a hole, and use some stiff wire + needle nose pliers to make a hook.

At least until you can find the part at a junkyard / dealer / online.

 

yah, thought a simple fix would be best. tried jb but got caught at the bottom when pulled. prob try a screw on the top part.

A screw would totally work. Simple . No one sees the inside anyways.
