2008 G35 transmission filter?
2008 G35 transmission filter?
My daughter just bought her first car. 2008 G35 2wd/auto with 177k on it. It's in really good shape, seems to be well maintained.
I checked the trans fluid and it's due. Not burnt or black but just a hint of darker color and smell.
I ordered 6qts of Matic-S from Amazon.
My question is: Do you guys usually do the filter too or just fluid?
Thanks!

Looking at the pic of it online it does look really thin......
Don't change the filter, it's a metal mesh designed to catch heavy particulates, it's not an actual FILTER like you would find in other transmission. Plus it's up behind the valve body and TCM so you're disassembling quite a bit of stuff inside the transmission to even get to it.
It's designed for the life of the vehicle, just do your drain/fill (not powerflush), use a new crush washer on the drain plug, I think it takes 3.8 quarts to drain/fill.
