I have a 2007 g35 sedan with the vq35hr the car is an automatic with paddles. I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable place to get a new engine. Used or new but needs to have heads and all. Any help is appreciated

 

JDM importers. They are sprinkled throughout the country. Find the one closest to you and order one.

 

YMMV, they can be great or terrible at your local pull yard. The JDM engine companies have been fooling people for long enough … no guarantee engines are actually from low mileage examples. Highly recommend buying local and rebuilding.

 

I think it’s pretty clear that buying a good clean engine and having it rebuilt is the best route. But you’re talking $1500 JDM engine versus many thousands of dollars to rebuild. Some people just don’t have the time, money, or ability to rebuild an engine, and then having somebody else do it greatly adds to that expense. the JDM option is a pretty solid way to go if you just need a decent replacement engine.
