yes, so me being me I had to bring up this topic again. I want to know if it’s possible to swap from a five speed automatic to a seven speed automatic in the Second gen G35 Sedan. The seven speed automatic was paired with a VQ35HR in the hybrid Q50. now I know some people have might have concerns about if the cluster is going to be compatible and etc. the cluster will be compatible because I swapped my G 35 second GEN sedan cluster when the LEDs went out to a G37 cluster, and It was plug and play. so this brings me to the question if anyone has did it what is required to swap the 5 speed auto to a seven speed auto from a VR 30

 

Nope, HR engine uses the RE5R05A. Biggest hurdle is the bitrate that the ECM and TCM talk to each other with are different between the 5 speed cars and the 7 speed cars.

For the MOST PART, DE and HR computers play nice with each other, but they don't play nice with VHR cars.

 

I had an interest in that mod but after looking at the negative benefit of it, i quickly left it alone.. The cost outweighs the benefit of this idea, it didn't really make that huge of a difference in the 3.7 engine..
