OBD port not connecting after cluster swap please help!!

I changed the cluster in my 2007 G35 sedan and when I took the car to get inspected the OBD port no longer connects. Im wondering if anybody else has had this problem after a cluster swap or if this is just a coincidental issue. Please help if you have any info

Why did you swap the cluster?

i believe the the mileage needs to be synced with the ecu on some of these hitech new cars to get everything to work properly.

I'm not sure how the Infinities handle this but I used to work for Chrysler/Jeep and I've seen many cars come into the shop after installing "junkyard" clusters. All of the electronic communication is handled through a common Buss, which means all the computers talk to each other along the same "phone" line. What would happen is all of the other computers would see the "new" guy (cluster) and they would think he was the real one. They would then try to reprogram themselves to match the cluster, which was, in fact, exactly the wrong thing to do.

In trying to reprogram themselves, they would just so confuse themselves and each other that replacement would be necessary. This could easily run into thousands of dollars.

I'm not sure Infinities are so designed but I sure wouldn't be surprised. I would certainly be hesitant about replacing an electronic component with a junkyard one and bite the bullet for an OE with proper installation. Is it really worth it?
