I am back! I fixed the leak on the driver side. It was the transmission hose having a slight rip in it. you can see it leaking in the one pic above.

This weekend i will be tearing this down. Do you all think its okay to put rtv on the cover? I just installed the gasket alone last time.

yeah, one of my oil cooler lines has a similar wetness on it. don't use rtv on that vct cover. you can get an upgraded mls gasket on z1, unless yours already comes with one.

When i did my timing chain service, i did NOT remove the VCT covers. I removed the whole front cover with them on since they did not leak. If yours leak, then yes, spit them but very carefully because they sit on dowel pins and if you split it the wrong way, it could crack. Best way, remove in one piece and then lay it on the ground, put few wood pieces under the main cover and gently tap around the VCT cover until it separates. I would use OEM gaskets or whatever gaskets you want but not just RTV.

Still have not worked on it yet. But it is only leaking on the passenger side. so could this just be a power steering leak? I don't really notice a loss of engine oil.

could be. can you clean it out real well and see what fluid it is? is the p/s reservoir getting lower?

look under the ps pump and see if the alt is wet.
I had 2 ps leaks, the hose and the actual pump itself turned out to be leaking.
215k miles though, so may not be an issue till way later.
only caught it because I fixed the hose and then cleaned the alternator only to see oil on it again.
