But, that is neither here, nor there. My best guess is it will be used to view pics/videos on the nav screen. It would be really cool if you could copy mp3/wav files to some kind of onboard hd and listen to them through the car's audio system. Another possibility would be to copy contacts/phone-book entries on to the car to view through your nav screen. I guess we'll see soon.

This is from Edmunds.com
" New stereo system is not a discrete 5.1 setup, but the G's front doors were designed around its 10" front door woofers. Plus, the head unit has a sophisticated, home theater-spec 24-bit chip that allows it to "pull all the nuances off CDs." According to Crahan, "you can even hear when a female singer changes the shape of her mouth." Finally, the system has a 9.5G hard drive so you can store your music in the car. "

Sorry I offended the CF users.. most PDAs have moved on from CF.. and SD/SDmini is smaller.Again.. IMO CF is too big.. cameras use them becuase they do have better read/write speeds, and the larger capacity. Now there is a 4GB SD and CF has one 8GB card out.
Back to the car, I am guessing like everyone ,it will be for music and photos.

The SD 4Gb goes for around $120
I wouldnt say fairly cheap... I just use SD becuase my PDA, camera (Im no pro, I have a cheap Casio 5MP), all use it.. my old PDA years ago Axim X5 used CF and SD.

Are you sure that you are comparing similar cards, i.e. Read/Write speeds?
