The look of the 07 is nice... but I haven't really heard or read anything that has convinced me the performance is going to force me out of my modded 04. What I read seems more like they are just trying to appeal in a foo foo way. Maybe the performance talk will pick up after the release? I would think duel intake and exhaust would be a benefit over previous years, but I'm just not convinced this model will be that much of a better performer.
I really had my hopes up for a 3.7 (or bigger) with more attention to true performance - Making the exhaust note more aggressive just doesn't cut it. I guess time will tell.

I agree ^^. The message that i was getting from the video was that they payed alot more attention to making the interior noise quieter....meaning less exhaust note. At the end they said that you could hear the mechanical whine and buzz....but only under full throttle acceleration. Also, this exhaust sound engineering isn't new...I remember reading that when they built the coupe exhaust, they had a ferrari 360 on hand to model the sound with. So if you're looking for a real throaty exhaust, you'd probably still need to go aftermarket. However, if the new sedan sounds anything like the current coupe, then I'm sold.Originally Posted by knihc2008
Wouldn't "quieter" and "more melodic" sort of go against each other?

I drive clients around with my job as an outside medical device salesman, and there are many times I'd rather not hear the exaust roar. I wouldn't be surprised if Infiniti addressed the cabin noise issue for that reason. Maybe they'll also (someday) offer different exhaust options at the time of purchase? The Nissan 350Z offers the "growl" that many owners seek, so if Infiniti truly sees themselves as a luxury brand, they're going to have to toe the line between refinement and performance.
