ads in posts for premier members

So I remember when I forgot to renew my premier membership I started noticing those little ads that pop up when you hover your mouse over a word in a post. Well, I just renewed a few months ago and over the past week or so I have noticed them return.

One of the main reasons I renewed was so I wouldn't have to see these ads. Is this just a change in policy with the new ownership?

And people bitched at me for not renewing. One more reason to add to the pile.

it's common on most forums I've been on. It's not ad ware, it's just a way for them to generate revenue based on the texts in posts, BUT I never had this happen since I was a premier member. I hate those damn ads cuz every time my cursor moves over one the ad shows up and its annoying.

They mentioned having FF and AdPlus but that sorta didn't work for me.

I've got an ad blocker for safari, and it blocks all the normal ones but not those. The ads I'm referring to are pretty rare, but they tdo happen.

Either way, I was just surprised to see the change made and was hoping an admin/mod could explain it.

Unfortunately, we don't have any definitive answers for you (waiting for IB to chime in). It appears that all types of members (Staff, Vendors, Premier Members, normal members) are being affected.

I'm using FF, Adblock Plus, Adblock filterset.G Updater, and Flashblock. I don't see any ads WHATSOEVER on this forum. I suggest you all do the same.

Not having banner ads makes pages load so much faster.

Thanks for the update Calvin. Like I said, I've got Ad block running on Safari and it blocks all the banner ads and I never had any issues until I started noticing these ads.

Calvin- any update? I was hoping the upgrade would take care of the issue, but I just saw an ad in someone's sig a few minutes ago.
