Maybe just a thought! kinda!

I've been surfing the Vendor classifieds for various parts. While I have been trying to research and gather info about the parts being sold I seem to run into the same post replies...... "bump" or "PM's replied" even when people post questions in the post. The most recent example being now. I am looking to purchase some tokico shocks and I wanted to know if the 350z and the g35 were the same shock/strut. Reason being is that im running 350Z springs on my sedan. Someone else posed that question (which would be benefitial to the search function as well) the vendors reply was "PM's replied????? That doesnt help anyone but the PMeeee.

While im not new to forums, I understand prices cant be posted sometimes, but technical info should be. It only helps. Well I am back to my quest, simple?? Yeah but it a simple answer that I want before ordering my shocks, unfortunatly it's not from any vendors on this site....looks like ill be calling customer service for my answer and (according to the posted price) saving a few bucks..$6 to be exact...

yep, PM doesn't help in searching but that question has been covered many times before by non-PM. Overall the search engine here could be a little difficult but if everyone gave it a little more effort, they'll eventually find the answer. What I do is, if searching through the forum's search engine doesn't work, i'd go to google and type the keywords + g35driver....or keywords + my350z.

To most of the noobs, many questions that they think that hasn't been asked...has already been asked. When the only reply you get is "search", that means those individuals have been here long enough that they have seen the topic covered a few or more times already. I'm sure everyone had their share of being blown off and told to "search" at least once. I say continue to ask but at the same time, continue to search as well. If you're lucky, you'll get a semi-noob that has seen the topic once or twice, in which they'll provide you with an answer.

I'm assuming that since you have the 350z springs now, you will need the matching 350z tokico dampening and not the softer sedan tokicos.

Oh I agree. I used that just as an example. I am not new to web forums, I might be new to this web site but I have been a very active member of several other car forums in the past.
I was very active in the honda/acura forums in the late 90's to early 00's... up till about 03.. I had a daily driven low 12 second stock motor(tuned turbo) civic that I drove 32 miles each way to work 5 days a week....
Anyways... Thank you for for the info and thank you for the link. So far im finding different part numbers for the shocks (the springs I have all figured out) I was just concerned about running a stock lenght shock on a lower (1") suspension.. in the past ive always ran shorter shocks on lowered cars and longer shocks on lifted trucks...I just didnt want to get a stock sedan shock if it was going to come close to or bottom out with the 1" lower z springs... Thanks

try it this way:

"keywords site:g35driver.com"

it will return results only from driver.
