Yeah he sent me an email very late last night (3:30am my time)
I'll get back to him before the end of the day.
I'm trying to decide if I want to be a member anymore.

He's on the west coast, but that's still pretty late!
Glad that he was able to reach out to you.

Let me know if you need anything from me in the future Thanks, Scott!

I had some that I didn't even know existing... sneaky PayPal bastards!
Thanks! That is sneaky, i am very sure i did not sign up for any type of recurring payment.

To add to your findings, mine seems to be set-up kind of different, after hitting the Dashboard, nothing is listed, but there was a note with a link that says:

You can manage the automatic payments you have with other merchants from My preapproved payments page.

Clicked on it and IB was listed there, click on IB and bam! you're right! mine is scheduled to renew! There should be a link at the very bottom to "cancel subscription".

this is pretty interesting...I know all the e-mails mention that 'recurring payment' line, but hadn't heard of this actually happening to anyone. I've never even seen an option to even let you setup the recurring payment when you sign up for premier membership.

I just checked mine and it said I had a recurring payment to G35driver for Premier next year.
I cancelled it just in case.

EDIT: I just recieved an email confirmation from Paypal saying "You have successfully cancelled your subscription to Premier Membership Subscription
You will not be billed for this subscription again."

As sorry as I am to see you going through this, I am somewhat glad you brought it to light. You may have saved several people from the grief you have been dealing with. I checked my paypal. Low and behold I had been unknowingly subscribed for annual renewal, which has been duely cancelled.

I don't believe it's something that this forum or IB did.
I think it's something PayPal automatically sets up. I renewed this year and PayPal sent me an email letting me know the payment went through and that I was set up for auto renewel. It's a PayPal thing... not something the forum sets you up for.

Last year, the billing dept was all messed up and was unable to receive payments for subscription. Mine had to be extended like 5 or 6 times before the problem was fixed and my payment went through. That may be why I never saw the warning last year.

No matter if you're a member here or not. If you have PayPal, check this section of your profile. I had reoccurring payments to Proflowers and Woot as well which is stupid, since I only paid them for products being received.
Good thing I saw it and canceled them before they were due. I would have been paying them while getting nothing in return.

At least with my Premier Membership here, I get a picture next to my name and an awesome Marketpla..... well.... I get a picture next to my name anyways.

^^^^Scott, I have payed my membership to two other car sites besides g35driver and neither of them did this on Paypal. Heck one site I joined even said they do not allow automatic renewals through Paypal.

Thanks again for the warning Scott.

Robb- When did all this change? Like I said, the e-mails have always stated this and there's even a few threads in this section about it, but it never actually auto-renewed.

Somebody from IB's got some splainin to do.....

Wes- it doesn't look like it's taken effect. You're still listed as a registered user in your user CP, not premier. PM Robb M and he should be able to direct you to someone who can get it resolved.

To anyone else who is in this situation, sorry. Please check your Paypal account and account here to ensure you're not setup for auto-renewal if you don't want to be. It was not like this before and to the best of my recollection, we were never informed of this change.

What I don't understand is how Paypal can legally do this without authorization.
If it was my PP account I would be all over them.
