Premier Membership Automatic Payment

Okay... now I'm really getting pissed off.

I renewed my membership a few days ago for the cost of $29.95.
Note that this is now in dispute and being ignored by IB.

When I renewed, I got an email telling me that the payment went through. At the bottom of this email was a note stating that next year's payment would be automatically taken from my Paypal account when it came due. I didn't like the sound of it but since I was opting out of membership and requesting my money back anyway, it was no big deal to me.
Today, just a few days after sending in my $29.95, I get an email stating that an automatic payment has successfully gone through.
I go into PayPal and look... IB has charged me for a second $29.95 without authorization!

Not only is IB ignoring my request for a refund for this coming year's subscription, they just whacked my paypal account for an additional $29.95 for no fvcking reason at all.

Honestly, I'm starting to get upset. This isn't funny anymore.

hey Aeson, is there a possibility that you renewed your Premier Membership last year, and it was set to auto renew this year? So when you made the manual payment, that was actually the extra one, as your subscription was set to autorenew?
You can check in your own paypal account, and I imagine you'll find a subscription to g35driver on there which you can cancel, we are not able to cancel your subscription.

As for your extra payment, I can assure you that I will see to it you're refunded. If perhaps you could cancel your dispute with paypal, it would help me get things handled faster as there'd be less paperwork to do.

cheers,
robb

Happy to take this offline as well, but there is no option to cancel in PayPal. That's why the disputes are open.
I only went in and sent a payment because I got a PM from this site on Monday telling me that my membership was due and to be sure and renew.... so I did.

Believe me, at this point, I would have already clicked the button if it was available to me.
This site now owes me $59.90.

Robb, this is not directed at you. You have shown that you are on our side and I see you trying to make things right.
With that being said...
There isn't a snowman's chance in hell that the disputes will be closed until I have my money back in hand.

Thanks for the call Robb.
I found where to cancel my reoccurring subscription in PayPal. I took care of that and got confirmation emails after I went through the process.
It did not, however, refund any $.

Again... I may be pissed, but it's not aimed at any one person and I do appreciate your efforts.

-Peace

Hey Scott,

I sent an email to David our membership guy, and he should reach out to you, hopefully today. I'll forward on this further communication so that he is aware of it. I am also very glad to hear that you were able to find and cancel the recurring payment.

May I ask where it was?

cheers,
robb

No, you may not. LOL

I was in the process of writing up instructions for everyone here and as I walked myself through the process again, I couldn't find it.
PayPal's site is almost as fvcked up as our Marketplace. (sorry, little dig)

I believe I clicked on the Products and Services tab (as I did when we were on the phone) and I got a link letting me manage my automated payments.
That link wasn't there when we were on the phone and it's again impossible to find, so who knows now. I can't seem to duplicate my steps and can't find the link again.

Just so everyone knows, this site didn't pull funds. When you pay for your membership through PayPal, they are oh so kind enough to enroll you in automated payments without ever telling you about it. While I was in there, I also found reoccurring payments to Woot & Proflowers.

Robb, I'll cancel both disputes if it makes your life easier, if I have your word that this will all get taken care of.
I'll do my part to make this as painless as possible.

Thanks again.

I just found it again.

Log into PayPal and click on Profile. (It's located right below the blue tabs at the top of the screen.)
On the Profile page, look under the Financial Information column and click on "Recurring Payments Dashboard"

You can see what you have for auto payments there and change the status of any of them.
I had some that I didn't even know existing... sneaky PayPal bastards!
