It's not the site that's slow. (well, it was a little slow when posting a few days ago)
The issue is the email notifications.
I haven't got email notifications for either of the above posts yet. And it'll probably be 20+ minutes before I do.
And no, that's not because of outlook not checking the pop3, I'm not even using outlook.
I'm using Gmail and the email checks itself constantly. The emails are being delayed somewhere before they get to my account.
And I'm not the only one having the problem. Calcul8 is having the same exact problem. (I suspect lots of members are and just haven't said anything.)

I don't believe that emails have ever gone out the second a post is made. That stuff runs on a cron job, to reduce the load on the servers from constantly firing emails. They are done in batches, ever 15, or perhaps 20 minutes IIRC. Does that help to clear it up?
cheers,
robb

Note the discrepancy in the mail header between 08 : 21 : 58 PST and 07 : 34 : 11 PST .... somewhere that email got hung up for over 45mins.

Here you go. I just (within 2 mins) got the notification for this post:
46 min lag.
I can try switching to a different email account, but I really really really doubt that's the problem, as other people have had the same problem, and I changed nothing on my end.
