Couldn't agree more. I personally think it's pretty darned ridiculous, and if someone posts a jumbo-size pic, they'll already get flamed by the members so why constrain us? Besides, 22"-24" monitors are fast becoming the norm for desktops, and laptops have plenty of resolution now even at 13"-15" screen sizes.

If you wanna resize, IMO it should be set to 1920 x 1080 and no smaller than that, but that's just my opinion.

It would be kick butt if we could turn this feature on/off via the user CP.
And it would be straight-up awesome if we could choose the resolution.

That's a deliciously-ingenious idea. Most people wouldn't bother or know the difference, but for those of us who do notice something's different, we'd be able to flip a switch and presto, it'd be back to normal.

Ash, awesome idea dude. Unless Robb knows or has access to something I don't (which is almost a certain ) I don't think it's possible.

Would this addon work better for everyone? I am not sure what its called but here is an Example on another forum, It lists the full size on the bar uptop then you can just click on that and stay in the same window.

^Unless my understanding of the IB/vBuliten relationship is wrong, Robb should have at least some level of "access" to the team of programmers responsible for the software. That pretty much negates the phrase "not possible" in my book

^ That's very true, and I'll let Robb comment further as it's beyond my forum privileges.

if only this were true. while I do have access to the vB team, i certainly can not give them feature requests etc to work on. they've got their hands full fixing vB 4

If you choose to attach images, rather than embed, images will pop up the way you're envisioning them, using a lightbox on the same page though.

cheers,
robb

^Might be worth dropping a line to the programmers, just as an 'idea' not really a full-fledged 'feature request' Could be made a feature of the new vB.
After all, such a feature wouldn't just be of benefit to this forum, but really to any forum running vB.

JMO, but I don't see it as a biggie.
1024 is fine for 95% of the pics posted, it hardly merits a programming change.

I can definitely see the value larger pics in the Media share & Photography forums.
Can the feature be enabled/disabled on a forum by forum basis?????

That could be possible.

Can someone please give me a list of forumIDs to be excluded and I'll see what can be done?
