Images being scaled down to a lower resolution??

I post most of my images in 1024 x 6XX resolution, but a couple days ago I noticed that all of the images looked smaller on my computer.

When I pull up the properties of the photo in this post (https://g35driver.com/forums/5559904-post657.html) its noted as:

1021px × 683px (scaled to 800px × 535px)

Why is the site scaling down images now?

Perhaps it is to prevent other uses who don't know how to resize images from posting an extremely large image that takes up more then my 22" monitor.

^I didn't think of it that way, it is cool to post full res images. The issue I have is that the images are scaled way down to 800 x XXX

You can still post full res images you just need to click on them to get the full res.

Its just another step. But in the process it makes the forum look cleaner, and wont ruin formatting. Now we shall never have issues with oversized pics

From a Photographer's point of view I completely understand but think about the forum as a whole how much it will help others.

That's the only point of view to be considered...LOL

I'm curious what others think about this. Of course I'm looking at this from a photogs point of view since I frequently create threads with 10+ images that would be better viewed at a non-scaled down size without having to click on every image individually.

I like the idea in general, but agree 800 is a little skimpy.
1024 might be a better compromise.

This sucks, I hate it!!!

1024 would be ok(ish) but 800 is retarded.

We might as well just delete the entire photography board though

I am honestly not sure who enabled this feature (which I actually like) and why it was set to 800, but I've adjusted it to 1024. If you see my SN in black soon you'll know I ticked someone off and got removed from Staff.

Thanks Shane.

You're our best Admin... If I see your SN in black, I'm burning the forum down.
