Different vendor types?

I'm pretty sure my FS: Door Lock Actuators thread was deleted by someone (without respectful notice) because I'm not a vendor. I'm just a simple hobbyist out to help my fellow g-drivers.
I don't sell enough to justify donating $2,400 a year to IB just to sell $30 door locks.
Why can't there be a hobbyist vendor or non-business vendor?
I'm just a simple hobbyist not even pulling a profit.
I'm not the only hobbyist who has been shut down here either for providing their own products.

So instead of pissing and moaning, I'm proposing a new "hobbyist vendor" status to help out the hobbyists that provide what regular business vendors do not.

Well, so much for being possible. On to future lock of this thread.

Internet Brands hates hobbyists.

Unfortunately, Sean is right. It's been fought for, and it's a lost cause.

We do support the idea, but what's to stop local shops/garages from signing up for this "hobbyist" vendor status? It's just too hard to regulate. There are just too many vendors to keep an eye on all of them and their threads.

Blind eye victim just like Josh.

I've given up trying to help a community that doesn't want it.

I blame vBulletin. By charging money for forum software, it promotes online communities to be businesses and to run like a business.
phpBB is free, and is also a widely distributed forum software, however it is absolutely FREE.
Free forum software promotes freedom. I'll admit vB looks prettier, but at this price?
F that. I've already discovered the trick to bypassing the word censor for vB. (not giving up this secret )
Same tricks are not possible with phpBB.

I am listening. If you would like to chat on the phone, to hear some of the logistics surrounding the decision to not have 'hobbyist' vendor type programs, I'm more than happy to call. PM me your number.

Please report these posts to the moderators. This kind of thing is against the rules here on 'driver if I'm not mistaken. The site team will take appropriate action, but they can't read every single post on the site, so we all rely on members like you to press the button

cheers,
robb
