Phil- quite certain you're not in the crosshairs on this one...

If vendors pay big bucks and they see the value of an open thread with 100 bumps and one inquiry... Well- not what I would consider a good investment but so be it. I guess if they're providing good service and not just bumping while providing crap service...

I don't really even bother with vendor marketplace anymore because its all the same crap every single day. Like Phil said- I know who I need to talk to and how to find them.

we're simply bumping a single thread in your sub-forum.
realize we are paid vendors and ultimatley the ones that fund & support these very forums for you all to use.
many sites actually allow & promote in-forum adverts as it is a way for the vendor to reach its customers & interact directly.
we make large investments every 6-12 months with forums sponsorships and sticking us in vendor-only sections DRASTICALLY effects our reach and truly discourages us from even being a vendor in the first place.
we are a business and we love to support the forums with both knowledge/info & product...we just want all to see what we have to offer & mean no harm in posting a thread per model.
BLABLABLA....^....you're the worst offender of all our vendors/sponsors! Not a day goes by you don't manage to get your information in our faces. Sadly for you it becomes an aggrivation to the point I wouldn't buy your merchandise! Understand?

BTW I don't like going into the vendor section. For me it's unorganized and hard to find stuff. Plus I notice duplicate threads.

I'm with you on this one Gary.

Being a proverbial "taxpayer" doesn't authorize anyone to ostensibly vandalize a community (a forum community or otherwise) through their sense of ownership and entitlement- and seeing the vendor status as justification is repugnant.

Vendors aren't expected to stay within the vendor marketplace- but that's where their marketplace style spam should be restricted as a courtesy to the rest of the community. I look down the driver main forum page and I see the adds in half a dozen sub forums... and they're all just "BIG SALE, ALL PMS REPLIED... MID DAY BUMP!" in some sedan forum. C'mon.

You don't spread a good word about your business by bombarding the community with useless threads- There are P P PLENTY of those in here already. Leave the hard sell crap in the vendor marketplace.

Put your business name in your sig with a link to your page and meander at leisure through the ranks of the forums helping people out like the other successful vendors do. As you begin to build the trust of the community, they will come to you.

If the vendor threads didn't show up in the "new posts" feed that a lot of us regulars/ OG members use then it wouldn't be an issue... but there are many times I log in to check new posts and am bombarded with 6 pages of tuner_zstore reminding me that they sell fawking everything for a G35...

we get it. If we need something we will go to the vendor forum and look for it/ PM you.

Wise words as usual Ian Members are MUCH more likely to buy something from a vendor like Phil who actually chimes in and shares their expertise/ experience than someone just cut n pasting "bump, ready to ship" from a cubicle somewhere. Especially since 9 times out of 10 those guys are just drop shipping it anyways.
