The Current System

I've only been a member of this forum for a short time now, but I'm seeing what I percieve as flaws in this system. Firstly, everybody posts everything on the main board, not in the subcategories where the posts should be organized (I do this quite often). The reason I do this, and many others do this too I believe, is because if you put your post in the correct forum you have less of a chance of getting your question answered. Afterall everybody reads the main forum, but much fewer read the more specialized ones.

This creates more work for the admins because they have to move the post, and once a post is moved it's somewhat exiled- put off and forgotten.

I dont know what a good solution to this problem would be, but it does seem like a self perpetuating problem that just creates more work. I think maybe having a "new post" forum, which holds a collection of the newest posts from all of the categories could at least alleviate this problem.

What do you guys think?

You're putting this post in the wrong section yourself. We appreciate suggestions, but I think you should practice what you preach as well.

Another thing that I notice it that people repost their thread in multiple places (in the right subforum and in the main forum). It is annoying.

Practice what I preach? lol, I wasn't preaching, I was making a statement about the way things are.

Also by moving my post to this section, you're condeming it, because nobody reads this section. Which was my point!

if you hold your mouse cursor over the forums "button" it gives you a drop down menu. On there is a "get new posts" option. Personally that is how I read the forums in general. It gives you all the new posts for all the forums and you can read at will. Hope that helps some.

(not speaking as a moderator, but as someone who's been here a while)
So you've been here a short time and you think these are flaws according to you? This is the largest G35 site for a reason.

and your questions WILL get answered in the subcategories if they are worthy enough and not previously answered. The people that actually know what they are talking about do read the subcategories. Just because you will get more garbage replies in the coupe forum, doesn't mean they are the answer you are looking for. But for some, all they want is attention.

Sedan
Another reason questions may not get answered is because they have probably been answered a hundred times before and people are sick of repeating themselves. I try and answer questions about stuff I know about, but sometimes I get tired of talking about the z-tube.
