Rumor
Rumor
I heard from sone inside source saying that there will be 2 versions of the Next G35 coupe - in 2008: a Twin Turbo version and a V8 version. He even clarified that no, it's NOT the GT-R since the GT-R will be different.
Can someone confirm this??

That's a rumor that has been floating around for a while but it is very doubtful for the G35. As far as the GT-R goes, yes it will most likely be a TT or a V8 and AWD.

Dunno about your sources, but I would call BS.
-A TT G35 would cannabalize sales of the upcoming Nissan GT-R in 2007.
-The GT-R powerplant has been confirmed as a TT version of Nissan's 3.5l V6 producing about 500hp which is in line with current aftermarket FI results with the VQ35 engine.
-The AWD system in the GT-R will be dynamic and will not be a full-time AWD system. It will be RWD and transfer torque to the front as needed.
-The G coupe concept that was debuted has been speculated as the next gen G35. The production model of the next gen sedan has already been debuted and is slated for a Fall 2006 release? My guess is that the new coupe will probably roll out in the first quarter of '07 if the sedan comes out this Fall.
-Next gen coupe will have most of the luxury refinements debuted in the concept and will probably get a NA tweak with the engine to free up some additional horses. 320hp??? I think it will stay RWD.
What's more exciting is what I saw a few months back regarding the 450Z. Some french automag reported a '08 release of a VK45 powered Z with 400hp NA track beast. Blown, this car could probably reach 1khp.

Now I've been wondering... Skyline = G35, GTR = Skyline GTR. Does this mean that there will still be a JDM Skyline that looks like the GTR just not TT? Will the G35 no longer be the USDM Skyline? It just seems Nissan has come to an interesting fork. They have two concepts out for the "Skyline" now, as the traditionally the GTR is the Skyline GTR and this G35 branch off of the Skyline.

^^ No.
Nissan is just seperating the GTR and the Skylilne, thats the reason for the "Skyline" being dropped from "Skyline GTR".
Its similar to the move toyota made with unpairing the Supra from the Celica. The Supra started out as the "Celica Supra"

I'd stand in line for a 450Z!! I'd prefer a G45 coupe though. I'm still dreaming of the sweet song of a japanese DOHC V8 in a RWD coupe. They had better make a 6MT version though. I don't want them getting all soft and calling it a luxury sports coupe and only offering an auto trannie. If they can keep the pricing in Corvette territory I'd call it a steal!
It'd be interesting to see.
My source sounded so sure and know what he's talking about. I'd give him some credibility since he's from Infiniti.
I realy hope that they'll be releasing a TT V6 or a V8 NA Version of the G35C. I mean, it's not hard to make one. I hope that they each would be pusing ~350hp

Maybe but not for us
From Edmunds
"LONDON — Nissan's U.K. subsidiary will show off two new speed-themed concepts at this year¿s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The company says both models could make the cut for production.
The Murano GT-C sports a twin-turbocharged edition of Nissan's 3.5-liter V6, with output hiked to 350 horsepower. The suspension has been reworked with tauter springing, and Nissan has fitted 22-inch wheels and tires.
The exterior has been painted Kuro black, with all brightwork finished in a darker hue and head- and taillamps tinted in coordinated shades. A roof spoiler completes the edgy look. The cabin also has been upgraded and retrimmed, according to the company, "using British craftsmanship."
The 350Z GT-S gets a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 and a subsequent boost from 300 to 380 hp. The suspension is retuned and brakes upgraded to cope with the additional muscle, and the car features an aero body kit that helps direct cooling air over the brakes.
Nissan says it will release additional details closer to the event.
What this means to you: The Brits are playing with more potent variants of the Murano and the Z-car. Let's hope they find their way to American shores. "
