Concept Coupe delayed for 08?? NOOOOOO!

Ok, tell me im misreading something, but from http://www.nissannews.com/, "The Infiniti Lineup - Charting the Changes [July 20, 06]", they state:

"2007 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe

The Infiniti G35 coupe remains a standard-bearer in the sports coupe class since its introduction in 2003. For 2007, the standard VQ 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine produces 275 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, while the G35 Coupe 6MT model generates 293 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

The refined performance coupe also again features standard High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-xenon headlights, available Navigation system; as well as other luxury and performance options. Also available are a Rear Active Steer package, which includes vehicle-speed-sensitive power steering and 15.1:1 steering gear ratio; and an available Sport-Tuned Suspension Package with 19-inch forged aluminum wheels and Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD). Standard on the G35 Coupe 6MT are the Viscous Limited Slip Differential and unique front fascia and side sills.

Enhancements to the 2007 G35 Coupe include:
· Standard Intelligent Key (not available on G35 Coupe 6MT)
· Standard auto on/off headlights"

This sounds more or less like the current coupe, does it not??

It will probably be a 2008 model, but will be available mid to late 2007, just like any other 2008 car.

i think most already knew that it would come out next year. more interestingly, looks like nissan finally went with sae numbers on the coupe... and as predicted, the power figures are indeed lower.

Yeah, the '07 coupe is just a carryover of the '06. The new G-Coupe will be out spring/summer of '07 as an '08.

Maybe they are doing so because they want the 08's to sound a lot more powerful?

I was thinking of buying a 2006 6MT, but maybe I'll wait until next summer and get the 2008 model.

Of course, there will be a buying frenzy and dealers will most likely be making them up above MSRP the first year.

The new SAE way to rate HP makes all cars have lower HP numbers as opposed to the old SAE rating method. All new cars will be rated that way soon.
