I hope they come through with it.
Might be more than just you hoping that.

You are likely right....
I didn't allow as much as the sedan AWD, since there are a few extra things in the base sedan AWD.
I also didn't allow for $ increase.

AWD could easily be $57,500 (CDN) msrp

& yes Deane.... AWD c/w 6MT please & thank you.

If my little bird is right, the new coupe will come with an AWD option.
I also heard that the coupe was being delayed until the fall. Although I wasn't told the reason as to why, I figured it might be the addition of AWD. Or, I guess, I hoped it was.

We could be looking at $56,500 (CDN) or so....

First of all the AWD possibility is the best news I have heard in a long time Does anybody know what the prices are looking like in the US? What's listed above seems extremely expensive!!! Thanks

If you compare how much the sedan increased for '07;
It should be a pretty good indicator for the new coupe

What's listed here is not overally expensive in CDN$$$. You're likely considering US $$. We don't have information or specs on the Coupe so far so way too early to be seriously forecasting prices.

I would love to get the GT-R but that is WAY out of my price range. Anyway, if someone could put it in simple terms why they think or know why AWD is not an option on the coupe I would love to hear it. (Same thing with BMW's new coupe...If you want the AWD you get stuck with some crappy base engine instead of the twin turbo, which doesn't make any sense if you are spending that type of money for a SPORTS car) If not, thanks for the reply everyone & I will go back to the drawing board again
Just FYI guys, the only downside to have and AWD vehicle, and the reason they have not put it on the coupe thus far, is you reduce power transfer from the crank to the whell (lower WHP), due to the viscous clutches in the AWD diferential. They have not put it on the coupe so far, because it is Infiniti's sports car and traditional sports cars are rwd, for this particular reason. The idea of a sports car is to maximize power transmission to the tires.

However if Inifiniti engineers have develope a diff/computer system that will make comprobale whp, this option would be ideal for both drag, track, and autocross use, and I will definately be thinking about trading my 06 in for an 08.

You focus on drivetrain (AWD diff) power losses but missed an important point. Weight. There will be extra pounds from all the AWD hardware so that extra power you refer to would be even more welcome to enhance performance.

So true... weight can be a killer.

Since Infiniti didn't get the GTR....
I wonder if they intend to make the coupe their own version of the GTR.
...higher end finish & apointments...
& likely lower powered, NA 3.7 instead of TT ???

My "source" suggested there may be an Infiniti "convertible" version of the GTR coming after the GTR release.

An NA 3.7 would be a nice gift too.
