It will definitely hurt the resale value of your 1st gen Coupe......you'd better sell it quick!! When I traded in my 03 G Sedan back in late November, I couldn't believe how much of a drop the resale took because of the release of the 2nd gen Sedan. I was rather surprised and disapointed. I guess a new generation vehicle will do that though.

I call BS on the 38K the dealership is claiming. If for some crazy reason it is true, that just means the resale value of my 2005 will stay strong. I remember looking at a 05 mustang GT convertible when you couldnt get them. I happened to know someone who owned a dealership. They offered me a car for 39K. THANK GOD I BOUGHT MY G INSTEAD. I would still be upside down on that piece of junk in car payments. Now they are a dime a dozen.

$38K base is a joke, just as $650/month for lease. BMW is already offering better lease rates on their site for the 335i.

And why does the $5K jump "tell" you it's got a new engine? All base prices rise over time - it's called inflation. I was expecting $3K more. It's going to rise, but not into BMW territory.

Because there is NO WAY that Infiniti will raise the price by $5k if they only drop in the VQ35HR! If Infiniti offers the VQ35HR in the new Coupe, the increase in price will be very marginal (3% or less).......just like the new Sedan.

That seems to be the rumours. Most likely within a month or two of the NY show in April.

They announced a long time ago that the new G35 would have significantly more Hp, (+30-60 hp). Not sure why they would have a non-sport version on a car that is clearly a true 'luxury sports car'.

Where did you see this announced? I've been following closely and have not seen any announcements concerning horsepower.

IMHO, "true luxury sports car" is just a label and not really indicative of what it is. I see it more as an entry level sports car. My guess is there will be two engine choices and AWD available.

I wouldnt consider the G any of the above stated. Its a Sporty Coupe to me. It has aggressive power, but even with the 'sport tuned' suspension, it still wouldnt be a race car in my mind.

i would simply call it an "Entry Level Luxury Car" that happens to be pretty quick for the money.
