I think the demo car may be delivered to dealerships randomly for a few weeks for dealerships to check out at that time, but not to actually sell. I remember when the original G35 coupe was due to come out. The dealerships were given the new coupe to check out in their showroom for about a week. The coupe was then taken away and delivered to another local dealership for them to check out too.
Well, not that far fetched...the '06 M35/M45 came out around this time in 2005...Originally Posted by Z2G
That sounds a bit odd. When do automakers release a new car that early in the year when it is actually next year's model year? I can understand a 2008 car coming out in Sept. or Oct. maybe, but in April or May? NO WAY!!!!I think the demo car may be delivered to dealerships randomly for a few weeks for dealerships to check out at that time, but not to actually sell. Maybe the G35 Sedan but not the Coupe. The Sedan outsells the Coupe by many times. The Sedan is Infiniti's bread & butter car.Originally Posted by FamousG
Are you kidding? The majority of Inifiniti's sales are from the G35 Coupe. It's the car that turned Infiniti around and made them a competitor in the luxury market. Before that, the luxury segment was lacking in the $30-35k sports department. Maybe where you're from it's different, but here in CA, where the auto sales market gets the most impact, the G35 Coupe has a dominant presence.

Based on history of the car and even the pictures released to date, why is it that anyone thinks the 2008 coupe will look substantially different than a coupe version of the 2007 sedan? It would seem unlikely the dash/interior between the 2008 coupe and 2007 sedan would be any different just as all previous years have essentially the same. I'm looking forward to getting a 2008 as much as the next person but I think the cat was let out of the bag last year when the sedan redesign was released.
I'm not being negative, just based on info to date and history the two cars have always been closely related. Certainly the engine in the new coupe appears to be a major improvement and evolution forward.

The current sedan and coupe look a LOT different on the exterior, but use the same interior. I think the same thing will happen this time.

What are build allocations? Certain amount allocated to each dealer dependin on their sales history and current inventory?Originally Posted by da mayor
