The Engine in the new Coupe has been revealed!!

Check out this article about the GTR and about a 1/3 down the page it spills the beans on the future of the G coupe!

http://autos.aol.com/article/power/v...02102509990001

"Stock boost pressure will be limited to about 10 psi, but we hear that the engine is capable of handling a lot more. A tamer version of this V-6, codenamed VQ37HR-TT, will make its way into the upcoming Infiniti G35 Coupe. Key differences between the engines are that the GT-R's VQ will have the twin turbo*chargers, lighter pistons and connecting rods, as well as a beefed-up crankshaft. Other custom parts may make their way into the engine, including racing profile camshafts and new valvetrain. It will come mated to a Getrag 6-speed transmission or a paddle-shift sequential automatic with seven or eight gears."

that paragraph says nothing about the new g35c having boost.

Key differences between the engines are that the GT-R's VQ will have the twin turbo*chargers

A tamer version of this V-6, codenamed VQ37HR-TT, will make its way into the upcoming Infiniti G35 Coupe.

this is saying that the gtr's engine, codenamed VQ37HR-TT, will have the tt's. it just says the g35c will have a tame version. probably no tt's

Exactly, I was merely pointing out the VQ37HR
I guess I missed the post on the new engine, I heard the VQ37 was a possibilty but this sounds pretty solid.

eh. i know this is a thread about the new engine, but can anyone say they like the styling of that thing? It's ugly, i hope production looks better than that. Not too many times i say that about concepts but dear god its nasty. I know how everyone hangs on GTR nuts but come on you have to agree.

If it's exactly the same engine without the boost, it will be very durable. Engines designed for turbocharging typically have thicker cylinder walls to withstand the higher pressures in turbo charged cars. This sounds promising, but I still want to know what HP the engine will produce. Unless it has a turbocharger, I can't see how it will be competitive with the BMW 335.

Yea that is true..
Well i guess we are stepping up the
displacements... Atleast its not an 3.8 liter
engine like the current eclipse... the
displacement is big enough to be a
small V8 engine.
