i would hardly call those who differ with your opinion as going "berserk". I'm here to learn more about cars and the people who drive them.. if i have something to say.. you'll here it here first! if you were offended..posting on a forum may not be the place for you.

How come whenever a new gen comes out, the current gen owners always say the new gen design sucks? Is this human nature at it's best?

I like the new front - they left a better vent for the Intercooler so I won't have to buy a new bumber. I liked the flow of the centre console on the concept better. Yes, the chrome thing on the rear has to go. Good write up, but as usual, some will agree some won't - welcome to my planet.

I think the reason why so many people are soo dissapointed is because they saw the concept first, and were expecting it to be at least 85% like it. Once that didnt happen they all felt "let down". I tend to be one fo the ones that like the car, and will most likely be buying one, next year. BUT, as a few have mentioned, it was not LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. I remember back in 03, I was stopped at a light in my hyundai sonata, and someone with a dark grey G35 coupe pulled up on the side of me. I swear, it was really love at first sight. I was mesmerized by the car, I was shocked, went home and looked it up. Unfortunately, even though I like the new one, it didnt even come close to giving me the same feeling. I guess Infiniti couldnt make another perfect car.
Oh, and one more thing I think that people were upset about is the fact that everyone was expecting to be blown away like the first gen. coupe did, like I said, perfection (or close to it) was reached before.

Not true. When the '63 Corvette came out, people went gaga over it compared to the '62. Likewise, when the '69/'70 Mustang came out, people went bonkers over the styling/performance upgrades over the '68 Mustang. The C6 Corvette was much better received and acclaimed than was the C5. People are saying this because visually, the Gen I Coupe looks better than the Gen II. As has been said, I think we all got spoiled by the gorgeous looks of the Concept. Anything else kind of pales in comparison.Originally Posted by G35Newbie

Albeit, I am a current coupe owner, but not for much longer. I am thinking of changing vehicles, so I am not COMPLETELY biased.Originally Posted by G35Newbie
