you can have a 1000 deposit on the car you exactl want. the dealer calls u and says one just arrived.

you get there 2 days later, dealer tells you its sold already.

happends all the time.
It means you get the first call on the car you put put the deposit on. If you want the car you get the serial number, come in and settle the deal. That's not shlt to me.
If the dealer sells the car with your deposit to someone else after you have done this you go to another dealer. It may happen occasionaly but hardly all the time. You also let people and the manufacturer know about their unscrupulous practice.

I ordered my 07 Sedan last June with the features/options I wanted and put a deposit down on it. I got $500 off MSRP at time of ordering in June. When I took delivery in November I was able to negotiate a further $550 and got splashguards thrown in as well. So all in all, I got $1050 off MSRP and free splashguards.

There were numerous members here that were able to negotiate some great deals on their Sedan when it first hit the showrooms last fall. The tri-state area seemed to have the best deals since there are so many competing dealers in the area.

My point is that it is likely that you will be able to negotiate a price below MSRP for your G37 on day one.

I talked to a dealer today about a deposit. She said that they are expecting the car base to be $40K. That does not sound right. I figured loaded it would be $40K.

She is saying opposite of everyone else, including those who introduced the car from Infiniti. Better find a new Dealer.

Yeah, that base price sounds so incredibly wrong, fully loaded it should be around that. Infiniti knows that they can't raise their prices that much!! Find another dealer.

Yes thank you...that is what i thought. I told her I have done my research and fully loaded it would be that. She said the current coupes go for that much fully loaded. Is that true.

Yes, that is the one thing she did manage to get right. The G35 right now, goes for about $40,000 or so, fully loaded. I would expect and heard it mentioned that Infiniti plans to stay around that price for a fully loaded G37.

as quoted at the NYIAS Infiniti has not made available price to any of it's dealers.. so your salesperson wouldnt know. As others have said.. g37 coupe will come in around the same price as 07 g35.. +1k or so.

Which dealer in Houston and what options do you want? I must have the 6MT at least.

As far as a deposit goes, keep in mind the downside is interest earned on that deposit, and that is at least 5% and up to 15%. So $1000 deposit over 5 months is roughly $20-$60 in interest lost, if that matters to you. So even if you don't buy technically the dealer still makes money.

He hit it on the nose for my 2003 G35, delivered halloween day at 2pm in 2002 and on my 2006 M45.

Deal will be MSRP and listed my preferences but will consider adjusting if something is close to what I want on that first truck. Im looking for a loaded Red - Sport, Premium, Navigation and Tech packages on it, an automatic so wife can drive it too<G>.

Im getting excited, drove the new sedan for the first time today while my old coupe was in for routine service, a very nice ride.

I have ordered a loaded G37, and it will run right at $40K. This price includes the premium package, nav, sports package and tech package on a journey rather than base car. So your dealer is either confused or trying to screw you. Bottom line check again and if she sticks with this price, get a new dealer and tell her you are and why.

Once the Infiniti marketing machine swings into full force i expect there will be a lot of interest. From your dealerships POV if you dont want to pay MSRP.. the person in line behind you prob. will.
Keep in mind that winter is right around the corner so demands for a coupe will sharply decrease in the north. I'm gonna try to deal, if not, then I'll wait. I don't need to be the first to own one in town, just be happy with my purchase for many years to come.
