New Navigation Looks Like It Still SUCKS

The new navigation looks like the interface still sucks crap.

Where's the touch screen that Acura/Honda have been doing for 3 or 4 years now?

Are they going to be doing voice activation for the navi?

A huge improvement I noticed is that they combined all the in cabin info onto the screen like they did on the murano and the FX/QX/and others (it's about f'in time). They've also got a much better input device than that piece of $hit miniature joystick that only a 5 year old child could have small enough hands to use.

The 07 G sedan and G37 have the same navigation, which is touch screen or you can use the wheel/buttons.

Yes, the Navigation system in the new G37 looks identical to that in the 2007 sedan. It is a very good unit - and much better than the 1st gen unit. With the new system you have 3 choices (choices are good) - touchscreen, the round **** and buttons, or voice activated. It also contains your radio, music box, etc information. It is also hard drive based, making it much faster than the previous DVD unit.

It is one of my favorite features of the new gen cars.

The Navi in the 2nd gen is absolutely amazing. The graphics are incredible, it's lightning fast, and like others have mentioned, it does in fact have touch screen and can be voice activated.

Yea, to the OP, you need to experience the nav. It is the best in the industry for the class of car as of now, truly amazing. And the old one did not suck.

I didn't say the 1st gen was no good, but re-reading my email, perhaps I may have implied that.

The 1st gen was very good for its time.

When Infiniti was using DVD, BMW was still using CD. Now they are using hard drives, and BMW is using DVD. They're a generation behind.

1st gen was good (2003).. loved 3d view. what i wanted vs what i got was touch screen. back then the lexus nav was the one to beat if i recall. you could argue fingerprints but overall touch is faster for me to use. i cant wait to use gen 2. traffic, touch, faster, nicer screen/graphics, more car functions integrated. Hell, i even liked my sexy-momma-voice chick! The gen2 should be fun to use. This is where 2007 sedan owners should speak up as they've been using the soon-2-be g37 system for a while now.

It's also voice activated, which you missed as well. I've had Honda/Acura Mercedes and have played with my Bro's BMW NAVI. BMW is the worst, followed closely by MB with Honda/Acura light years ahead of them. As long as this new Infiniti system is DVD based and has touch/voice it should be all good as that is about as good as it gets today. XM real-time traffic is also available which once again is about as advanced as you could expect.

Not sure what is so suck-crap about that
