Aftermarket Parts

Hi all,
I've been following this forum for about three months now, and I'm really looking forward to the g to come out, BUT I was at Nissan looking at cars with my girlfriend and asked the sales person about the 350z getting a new engine. He told me that for 2008 there were only subtle changes and then implied that the new Altima coupe may be replacing the Z!!! Do you think that this would hurt the selection of aftermarket parts for the g since they were built on the same platform?

i think this post should be sitting in another forum.. but to add my 2cents.. the z is not going anywhere.. it'll be around for quite some time. there are spyshots of a "baby z" floating around on the net.

I am not sure how much of what the salesman told you, I would believe. I have serious doubts that Nissan is going to end the Z and try and let the Altima Coupe take its place. They are two completely different cars, for two different markets, just because they are both two doors, does not make them interchangable. So I would not worry about aftermarket parts being available, because the Z will more than likely be around!!

I would put my money on the next iteration being a 370Z

And the Altima replacing the Z is the dumbest thing I've heard all day.

Agree! Plus don't forget FWD vs. RWD. Can't see Nissan yanking the "Z" at all; this would mess up corporate image/reputation big-time! Not to mention wholesale revolt among the ranks of all the guys and gals who absolutely "cherish" their cars!
