I think you also forget, of the 128000 3 series, wat percent do you think cares about the performance route? IMO probably like 10 percent. Your giving them too much credit if you think this isnt more about the dollar, but about constructing a company that caters to 10% of its market. IMO the other 90% or higher just cares to Read BMW on the hood.

IMO you will also see soon enough the disappearance of the TT setup from BMW. Mercedes used to have FI, but has since adopted the N/A idealism. BMW will crunch numbers and realize that since they implemented the TT setups, they have increased overhead significantly (and to a big company significant could b 5-10%) and will do away with the TT setups. You can hold me to that. IDK if it will happen in a year or three, but they will do w/e they can to save that keep that extra $ in their pocket and take it from yours. Just ask all the ppl that have a BMW without a dipstick. Or how they thought they could get away with not installing an oil cooler. Or what magical oil must go into a BMW that an oil change there cost 100-150 dollars that at a tuneup shop, etc would only cost idk w/ syn. 50-60 bucks?

BMW will not rid their TT setup.. They have plenty of cars in their lineup and many N/A applications to choose from..

Adding Turbo to their lineup just gets them a whole new list of customers.

Look at the STI and the Evos... They aren't going anywhere.

And as with all new lineups.. There will be a couple of issues.. So BMW found out that their new turbo setup needed an oil cooler..

Just like the New Rev-UP motors needed guess what... A brand new block.
