Questions for people that have preordered the G37

All... I called my local dealer with a few questions about preordering this AM and was wondering how my experience compared to others that have already preordered.

1. They wanted a non refundable $2500 deposit!

2. The dealer told me there is no Journey version, just "Premium"

3. The dealer asked if I wanted the technology package so I could get the "Back up Camera" I told him that I think that was included with the Navigation package he said "Nope"

4. If I pre-ordered today the car would be ready around October?

Seems like a bit of mis-information, and a little bit uncomforting... but I guess I shouldn't expect much from a car salesman.

1. I put down a 2k non-refundable dep. But It is still BS as I have heard of many people who put far less. 2k yes, non-refundable no. I also ordered mine in APR so that might say something.

2. LIAR...This guy is on crack, doesnt know what the hell he is talking about, or is just trying to force you to order one with all the options or something you dont want. There is no such thing as "Premium" model; this is an option.

3. Wow this guy is really behind and needs to catch up. Ask for a new salesman. Or ask to speak with the man that actually orders the vehicle, these guys are the most knowledgable.

4. Depending on their back-order this could be true but knowing that the rest of what this salesman said was BS, this is prob the same.

I really get tired of crackhead salesmen and dealerships that dont know anything. I wish more were as informative as INFINITIMICHAEL as actually gave a crap about their job.

Do NOT NOT NOT put a deposit with that dealership.

1. No dealership should ask you to put down a NON refundable deposit. The $2,500 seems a little steep but just call around and see which dealership seems best. I put down a $1,000 refundable deposit with Riverside Infiniti for example while another dealership asked for $3,000 non refundable.

2. Umm... I have no idea what he was saying lol.

3. The back-up camera is included with the navigation package and not technology package.

4. It depends where you're located. You shouldn't be receiving a car THAT late. My car is on the first allocation and it's one that has everything (except 4WAS) on it. Pretty much whenever Infiniti ships the cars over is when they will start coming in.

Overall... skip that dealer (or talk with a different sales person).

1. That's crap. We take deposits but they're always good faith deposits and are 100% refundable.

2. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Obviously as everyone knows there is a G37 Journey which like the G35 Sedan Journey slots above the Base model but below the Sport model.

3. This one is still up in the air. Last I heard the Reverse Camera will be included with the Tech package, NOT with the Nav package, just like the Sedan. This contradicts early reports which stated that the camera would be an option with the Nav package though. Supposedly those rumors were refuted. The guy probably didn't know for sure and said that you'd need to order the car with Tech just to be safe so that you don't order a Premium/Nav car and go "where the hell is my camera?"

*On a side note, who the hell needs a camera in the Coupe? Or are you just going for the "Wow factor?"

4. Sounds about right to me. Our June orders are slated to arrive in September so if you order a car now your order will be placed with the rest of the July orders and your car should get here around October.

The thing that annoys me is the non-refundable deposit. I wouldn't buy from a place that forces you to forfeit your deposit should you have a change of heart. Yah it sucks when customers back out but it's the nature of the business sometimes. Tell them to take their non-refundable deposit, and shove it up their arrogant butts...then move to Hawaii and buy a car from me.

If this guy is in Canada, there could be some truth in there. In Canada we dont have a Journey package, but we do have a premium packeage and in canada the backup cam comes with the tech package and not the nav...

Thanks for the replies guys. No im not in Canda I'm in Virginia.

I had this conversation over the phone, so I may stop by and talk to them in person or I might even just end up waiting until they get a few on the lot.

It would suck to get a brand new RWD coupe in the middle of winter tho

I would recomend Passport Infiniti in Alexandria Va, they have always taken care of me and only required a $500 refundable deposit when I ordered mine

I only had to place a $500 refundable deposit for my order. I am second on my dealer's list in NY.

$ 2,500 is absurd. Don't do it. They get carried away. Also, call back and ask to speak to another salesman. Don't necessarily judge the stealership by one maniac.

The rearview monitor is included with the Nav package...however, even if it was only included with the Technology package, the Tech package requires Nav (which in turn requires the Premium package).

Amen! Give me a part time salesman job. I knew more about the G35s than the salesman who sold me mine and he's been in the business for a while!
