Jeez... a perfect example of how bad american car reviewers are compared to the british. THis guy is so dry with his delivery and struggling to speak and drive at the same time. Clarkson has a problem talking and driving at the same time as well, but at least he emotes. Tiff doesn't even break a sweat while drifting and talking.

Just goes to show that without those twin turbos, the 335i is a slow car

Aside from the two doors any BMW coupe doesn't compare to the G37. Compare a Porsche. Those have similar back seats(really small). The BMW coupes can seat 4 adults comfortably. Also much more cargo space.

If those criteria aren't important then I guess can compare them, but those are pretty important for a LOT of people.

As a previous G35 6MT owner and a new 335i coupe 6MT owner, I follow the threads on this and BMW forums. I gotta say... I don't understand why you guys have seemed so negative with the preliminary G37 reports...that car is sick! I hope that video improves the mood around here. While I love the 335i (and won't even watch the second part of the video - because the oil cooler IS really a non-issue at this point), if I had seen this video beforehand, I might have waited to test drive the G37. Have fun guys / gals. That car looks like a winner

Awesome post Schmeah and I couldn't agree with you more. The G37 is sick, which is why I ordered one!

Thank you very much for your post, schmeah. The stuff in bold I'm trying to figure out also. I for one am really happy with the G37.

Haha. Just goes to show without an engine, any car is slow. Seriously, what does this even mean? It isn't like turbos are some magic juice that you pour on an engine to make it fast.

Ya I didn't really understand that statement either. I wonder what the 335i would be like without twin turbos... that's an interesting thought.

hahaha. Funniest post of the day. Magic Juice. Thanks Schmeah (sp?)! I remember when I was a member of S2ki, there was a lot less hate on that forum. Please, contribute intelligently.

Compare the G37 to a Porsche because of the seating configuration? I seriously hope you forgot to take your flintstone vitamins this morning. That is just ridiculous. I really hope you are kidding.

the 335 without turbos would be a 328 most likely. i highly doubt they use a different engine with those turbos. i think the 328 does 230 hp

Initial G: Yes, less hate over on s2ki, and virtually none on s2kca. I have a 2005 S2000 and am on those forums. S2K will be replaced by a G37 along about May of next year.

Speaking of "hate," anyone on here old enough to remember the flak and endless 'barfing' when Porsche announced the 924 and then the 928? "What! Front Engine! Water-cooled!? I was active in PCA/NJ Region for several years when I owned a couple of 356C-series cars. The NJ Region of PCA now has OVER 2,000 members. BTW, I had occasion to drive a 924 Turbo -- it was actually a lot of fun!

About that post "comparing" a G37 to Porsche: There's a lot more lacking there than Fred Flintstone and his 'magic pills.' Sadly, I see possible hard evidence of a head stuck "someplace where the sun don't shine!"

It will be a welcome day when the new G has finally spent some quality time in the hands of new owners and there is something CONCRETE to talk about. I wish for constructive banter all around; flames serve no one's interest... and always remember: No one wins long-term pi$$ing contests!!!
