radar based cruise control. an option with the tech package. some have said they dont like the looks of that big square hole.. but i expect that unless you stand three feet tall you wont ever notice it.

Yeah, I doubt anybody would even notice. I looked at the 2 pictures and couldn't even tell what you were talking until BostonMerlin pointed it out!

^^^ I dunno BM, that's a pretty big hole and looks kinda DIY. The tech package didn't seem like an option for me, so I didn't order it, but if I knew that grill was going to be modded in this fashion I would not be happy. Obviously, it would have been too late to cancel the order.

if i didnt know that the hr engine was dual intage i wouldve thought it was some kind of DIY like chi-town mentioned. Looks very tacky IMO and i think it couldve been better incorporated behind the top grill.

i say give it some time. i dont hear too many complaints about the sharkfin sat radio pod on the top of the car. its definately not good looking but its been on so many cars most ignore it. same could be said about those dots around the rear end for distance measuring. radar based systems need a big swath of unobstructed view to guarantee a good signal.. future tech will shrink those sensors down.. but for now.. if you want the latest.......

Just my luck I would probably get stopped by the cops and accused of having some radar jammer up front I don't think Lexus, MB or any of the other Manuf. with laser-cruise have a big cut-out like that...

I did notice what appears to be the rear view camera lens on the red one with the optional spoiler. First time I have seen that. The other two with the chrome lip don't appear to be equipped with the back-up camera.

I and many others have this on our M35/45. It gets on my nerve sometimes as I try to get the bugs out of it after a trip but you get used to it.

Benz and Lexus hide the sensor invisibly behind the main radiator grille.

Potential '07 G Sedan owners complained about the same thing when pics of the new sedan came out. When you see the new coupe in person, you won't notice it unless you are looking for it. Yes, it is a good size hole, but they've made it such that it isn't an eyesore.

Actually, come to think of it, with the Benzes you can see it behind the grille in certain lighting. I don't think the Infiniti is any worse.

I guess by the time you slap a license plate on there it will get busy enough that you prolly won't notice.

I think it's fine.. if it bothers you that much, someone will come up with a DIY for it, maybe throw on the non-auto cruse control grill on there. It's cut out for a reason... Covering it up may affect the sensors which is why they had it cut out in the first place. To not get an option like that just because if it putting a cut out on the grill insert is pretty damn dumb IMO.
